reinstalling windows xp

i want to install windows xp again because of issues with programs and preformance but im not sure how or even if you can install windows xp again can someone help me?

you can reinstall Windows XP by putting it in your CD drive and following the on-screen directions. However, it will install over Vista, and get rid of most of your files (programs, documents, settings). If you want to try and keep those files, boot up to DOS via an old CD (Win2k or greater) and use FDISK to repartition the drive. Or, if you can, download a trial of Partition Magic Pro and repartition the hard drive. This would normally be quite easy, but you say you have trouble with response time and memory. Next, use the XP CD to install as said before, but install it to the new partition. Then copy all your old files to the new partition and format the old one. Then use Partition Magic Pro to merge the two partitions into one, and You are all set! (Hopefully)
